Xiaohaizi Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section is located on the east bank of the Xiaohaizi Reservoir, Bachu County, Xinjiang. It was named by Xinjiang Petroleum Administration in 1969, and formally cited in Regional Stratigraphic Scale of Xinjiang in 1981.
Lithology and Thickness
Limestone and Clastics. Gray limestone, dark-gray clayey limestone, variegated quartzose sandstone, gray-green mudstone, etc. Thickness 136 m.
At Kalasayi, the formation comprises three parts: the lower part is of gray dolomite; the middle part is of variegated clastic rock; the upper part consists of limestone interbedded with gray-green mudstone, containing fusulinids and brachiopods; totaling 106 m thick.

Conformable contact with the overlying Aqia Gr
Regional extent
Distributed on the east bank of the Xiaohaizi Reservoir, and in Kalasayi, Kalpin and the Mazhatag mountain area.
